Presentation Systems
The interactive classroom is an important part of our success as an educational institution. Technology is a necessary component of the "teachers toolkit." To address these needs, FSUSD has standardized on the technology that is installed in the classroom. This allows for a standardardized and supportable teaching environment throughout the District. If you are interested in technologies that do not appear on this list, please contact the Educational Technology department at 399 5006 or the Information Technology department at 399 1200 for assistance.
Components of a Successful Presentation System
Many components are required for a successful presentation system installation. These components range from the system components, to classroom layout, to facility upgrades, and to actual installation. All items must be considred when installing a new system. It is the responsibility of the site to arrange for the installation of the presentation system.

Interactive White Boards
FSUSD has standardized on SMART Board interactive white boards from SMART Technologies. SMART Boards are a powerful tool for student engagement. SMART Boards allow teachers and students to prepare, present, interact, and capture curricular content.

Projectors
We have standardized on VT series of projectors from NEC. Discounted pricing is available from Oliver Worldclass labs. No quote number is needed for "projector only" purchase. Quote is required if purchasing a projector and having the projector installed.
Important: You must register your projector when you receive it. This will give you one addtional year of warranty.

Distribution Amplifier (DA): Updated Nov 29, 2007
Otherwise known as a signal splitter. This allows you to connect a regular computer (instead of a laptop) to an LCD projector, and you can still see the image on your computer monitor.
- Order StarTech ST 122L for regular classrooms. You must also order a 6' male-to-female SVGA cable. Order both from Oliver's.
- Order Extron P/2 DA2 Plus for large rooms and long runs. You will need raceway and extra cables.

Califone PA-300 Plus
Califone makes a range of audio equipment for schools. This 30 Watt portable "public address" system is ideal for a classroom or medium size meeting room. You can use a microphone with it, or simply plug the audio output from a DVD or VCR into it. Unit requires electrical power. It is durable, and cables are shipped with unit.
